Little Ekosofia 1

Why this video?

I hope to inspire one or two of you to start growing your own food.

In my first video I want to share some snapshots from my second year as a poststamp farmer. In June 2008 I finished a two year education on biodynamical agriculture. In Little Ekosofia I apply a rotationscheme of 1:8, which means a type of vegetable only grows again on the same piece of earth after 7 years. In this way the soil will be less exhausted and the risks on specific plagues and diseases will decrease. I put a lot of time and energy in the composting proces, also to help recover and improve the soil quality. I work with copper tools because they leave behind growth benefitial traces and are said to have a less damaging effect on the earth’s EM-field. My guiding principles are biodynamical, but I also apply permaculture for instance at the end of the growing season. Instead of letting the soil lay open during winter time I make a kind of permaculture blanket of plantmaterial which I will take off at the end of the winter to put in the compostcycle again.

In May 2007 I started with opening up the earth. The second video I want to share is about these early days. Stay Tuned…
